Make future service access part of the plan
A properly selected riser can bring a tank access point closer to ground level and reduce repeated digging. Start by identifying the tank and existing opening with a qualified provider. Do not lift heavy covers or enter any tank to measure it yourself.
Ask about compatibility and secure lids
The proposal should identify the riser, connection, seal and secure lid, as well as the finished height. Explain whether the location sees foot traffic, mowing or vehicles. Cover ratings and placement matter; a lawn cover should not be assumed suitable for vehicle loading.
Clarify the complete installation
Ask whether locating, excavation, installation and ground restoration are included. Confirm any permit requirements for the work and how the completed access will be marked in your service records. Keep access points clear without creating a trip hazard.
